I have a love–hate relationship with Tello. There are definitely better and more modern options today, and it can feel inconvenient and overpriced compared to newer services. That said, Tello has been reliable for what matters most to me: keeping a real, non-VoIP U.S. phone number via eSIM. As long as I keep the line active, I keep my number—which is tied to my banks, verifications, and essential services. Because of that, switching isn’t easy. When I travel internationally, including Asia, it has allowed me to stay connected almost anywhere while I figured out cheaper local options. And when I travel to the U.S., it’s a no-brainer: data is reliable, more than sufficient, and works almost like any traditional carrier the moment I land. Is it the best option out there? Probably not anymore. Has it been dependable and convenient for maintaining a U.S. number worldwide? Yes—and that’s why I still use it.

The service is exactly what I needed. I'm currently overseas in Kuwait and needed a US number to conduct personal business and Tello provided me just that.

I have no complaints about the service. Automatic low monthly and pay for additional usage is great.
