Julia was the perfect example of customer service: extremely knowledgeable, pleasant and patient. I would give her 10 stars if they were available. I was having a hard time transferring my husband's phone and number. The old carrier gave me the wrong account number. Another reason to leave them. I am not very technical so she was what I needed during this stressful situation.

It started out rough for my iPad but TELLO customer service was GOLDEN! EXCELLENT follow through! THANKS TELLO!
I have an iPad with cellular+wifi, and saw so many ads saying that Tello would work with my iPad. Initially (2 days ago) when I signed up, after 2 days of difficulty, I spoke to a tech support rep who flatly contradicted all the advertising saying that this data service would work with my iPad. This tech rep emphatically told me that Tello would not work on any iPad PERIOD. When I wrote to tech support about the many ads saying that TELLO is good for tablets, they contacted me and FIXED MY PROBLEM! The tech support person I spoke to initially who said I would never have Tello working on my iPad WAS WRONG and the backup TECH SUPPORT contacted me and got everything working! I'm THRILLED with their response! THIS IS THE CATCH with an iPad: They're not built for cellular phone use so although a phone number is assigned to every account, the number does not work for incoming or outgoing calls with any data plan or any cellular plan, even though these iPads can use either a physical sim card or an E-Sim. The problem with that is when Tello needs to send you a ONE-TIME code to log into your account - because the phone number doesn't work, you are OUT OF LUCK. But there is a solution that the new Tello Rep who contacted me worked out. Theres one back door that allows you to get the one time code. What the iPad with WiFi+Cellular is good for, is giving you secure private internet access when you are on the go, so you don't need to utilize public WiFi. It can also allow your iPad to act as a hotspot for a laptop or other devices. You do need to check (by entering your IMEI number) for compatibility of your device. THIS IS KEY INFORMATION: If you have an iPad and have difficulty setting it up, this is what the KNOWLEDGABLE representative specifically told me: ************* We understand that iPads, even those with SIM compatibility, cannot receive SMS messages directly. While these devices can use mobile data, the Messages app on iPads only mirrors messages from a paired iPhone and does not support native SMS functionality. For this and similar situations, we offer an alternative method to log in to the app if you're unable to receive text messages: -Log in to your Tello account at: their link for my settings. -Scroll to the “One-time Mobile App Password” section. -Enter your Security PIN and click “Request Password.” -A one-time password will be displayed on the screen. You can use this code to log in to the My Tello app. Keep in mind that this login only needs to be completed once, as the session should remain active on your iPad unless you log out manually. ************* Make sure, if you are signing up for use on an iPad, that you find the correct tech support from TELLO who has the real answers! This too: Under GENERAL on your iPad you need to go to CELLULAR DATA to turn on the ability to use your iPad as a Personal Hotspot if you intend to use it that way. Also you should set APN settings on your iPad. You can find that info on the TELLO website. I'm on "day one" and feeling really thrilled at the time and attention the customer service staff paid to help resolve my issue. THANK YOU TELLO!

I use my phone as a phone, not a computer mostly. So I don't need a big streaming phone account. Tello offers a basic phone plan for what I need. Calls, texts and some small internet download features that no other cell phone company can offer at this price. The service is good and consistent. Thank you.

Great phone service for those abroad
I recently transferred my Tello e-sim from one phone in Poland to another. This service is the best way to keep a U.S. phone line in operation during long trips abroad. This is my iphone's second line. Not only can I get text messages from the U.S. (for example, from my bank during a security check), but if I have Wi-Fi access, I can call friends and have my number show up normally.

Number porting for two numbers was flawless
Number porting for two separate numbers from two different providers has been flawless. Steps given for obtaining a number and performing port provided all required details. Service has been great, with comparable coverage of previous providers. We've not experienced any outages or notable slowdown in service. First number has been with Tello for 6 months. Second number was ported in the last month.

Perfect for International Travelers and Expats
In addition to the US, I have been utilizing Tello in South America (Brazil), and Tello has met or exceeded all expectations. First and foremost, the receipt of SMS messages for TFA, via either WiFi Calling or International Roaming, has been seamless, in addition to its other functionalities. Best budget telecom company in US Tello is a telecom company that allows you to build your own plan by setting the amount of talking minutes and data. You can choose from unlimited data to no data, the cheapest plan is just $5 per month! Also, they have no contract tied and you can cancel any time. The best part is when you running out of data or minutes, you can just renew your plan anytime so you can have a brand new month to reset the usage instead of adding expensive data or waiting until month end.

Tello is awesome there customer service is fast and very friendly I've never have any problems with signal unlimited data so many plans say unlimited data and it's only 4.5gigs I was spending alot on buying extra data with tello you get 36 gigs I don't run out of data now..and you can't beat the price ! Love the flexibility
Love the flexibility. The app is easy to use. Due to my travel schedule, I need flexibility in my package (frequent changes due to extended travel abroad) and Tello gives me that flexibility. Would appreciate if (a) the lowest package was closer to zero (basically not used for a period of time when abroad), and (b) prorate at the time of changing plans (don’t lose previous $$ credit just because I change part way through the cycle).

Much better than T-Mobile, not confusing, you pay your bill you get service not with all the crap T-Mobile pulls. Simple easy to deal with, pay for whar you need. No phantom billing, that can not be explained, and you just give up, Tello is much better than T-mobile with the same service. :-) AND now they have international service Been with Tello 2 years and will be dropping T-mobile after 14 years of ripoffs..

Disappointed in billing cycle
Last year, we discovered that we were billed more than once a month. When I contacted customer support, they told me they bill every 30 days, not once a month. This resulted in one more payment; not 12 but 13 for the year. This has not happened before.

I switched my tello sims in 2 phones, but did not know how to change tello number in each phone. Julia led me through the process of obtaining temporary passwords and setting up each phone. She was very pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable. I gave Julia 5 stars.

Unmatched service
I took a career break to study and travel and I was paying hundreds of dollars to retain my USA number - until I found Tello. It took about an hour or so to switch and port my number and bring down my bill to a fraction! The support staffs are always available and willing to go extra miles to solve any problems. I wish I knew about Tello a year ago!
