  • Yes, with Tello you can benefit from international roaming in 200+ countries and territories. Roaming calls, texting, and data costs are charged from your Pay As You Go balance, so you need a minimum of $5 Pay As You Go credit in order to activate international roaming. This can be done from your account -> My Settings.
  • Activating your international roaming service is very easy. First, make sure you have at least $5 worth of Pay As You Go credit. Then go to your account Settings and turn international roaming ON.
  • You will be charged from your Pay As You Go balance, according to the fees for the services you use and the country you're in, as listed on this page. Your Pay As You go balance for international roaming usage will update within 3 days.
  • International roaming is available in 200+ countries and territories. Click here for the entire list of available destinations.
  • Yes, Wi-Fi Calling will still be available. Even when you're in a foreign country, if you have an active Wi-Fi connection you can still call and text at domestic rates. Roaming charges will be incurred if you call and text while not being connected to a Wi-Fi network or if Wi-Fi Calling is not enabled.
  • When using international roaming, your Pay As You Go balance will update within 3 days. To avoid unexpected charges, the Auto Recharge feature will not be triggered. You can manually recharge your account with Pay As You Go credit whenever necessary.
  • When traveling abroad, you can access your voicemail in 2 ways:
    • if your international roaming service is active, you will need to call your own number in international format and enter your voicemail code
    • if you have an active Wi-Fi connection and Wi-Fi Calling is enabled, press and hold the 1 key or dial 123 on your device dial pad.

Tello is on a League of its Own

I was with Tello for a few years, but because my ISP was offering a cheaper rate if I bundled my internet and mobile, I left Tello for Spectrum. After having twisted my arm to move my mobile to Spectrum, they are now raising the price on both my internet and mobile services, so I am giddily moving back to Tello. I signed up with them on 9/13/25. What I am most happy with Tello is that they have an email through which you can communicate with them and it is marvelous how they reply so quickly and efficiently. Many corporations these days will not let you communicate with them via email and they make you wait for hours on the phone before they reply. It is total madness. They want your money, but they give you the least possible amount of customer service. Tello is on a league of its own. It's customer service is amazing. I have trouble hearing now as I am old and texting is also a challenge for me. I like communicating via email because I have a 75 inch computer screen, and I can see everything well. I can't say enough good things about Tello. Their plans and prices are good. Their website is very user friendly. They seem to delight in their customers' satisfaction instead of their customers' aggravation. I doubt any other organization can make that claim. Sometimes I have trouble with my phone's reception, but I have that problem with Spectrum as well, both mobile and internet (often in repair). I wish Tello would start an internet service. I would be the first to sign up, especially if they continue with the same quality service. And yes, Trustpilot, I am not paid to say any of these things. This is based on my real experience with Tello. I just wrote a blistering review about Home Depot posting product reviews from people given some sort of promotions. How honest could those reviews be? Maybe honesty is going out of style.
