How do I set up & access my Voicemail?

Setting up your mailbox only takes a minute. Once it’s active, you can receive messages even when your phone is off.

First-Time Setup
  1. Press and hold the 1 key or dial 123 on your phone.
  2. When prompted, enter a new 4-9 digit password, then press #. (Note: You cannot use repetitive numbers like "1111" or sequences like "1234").
  3. Follow the voice prompts to record your name and greeting (up to 4 minutes long).

Resetting Your Password
If you’re locked out, don't worry — your messages won't be deleted if you reset the password.
  • From your device (containing the Tello SIM card): Dial #793# and follow the prompts. We’ll send you an SMS with a new PIN, and none of your messages will be deleted. Once you regain access, we recommend changing your password again to something personalized.
How to Access Your Messages
  • From your phone: Press and hold 1, Dial 123, or Dial your own number.
  • From another phone: Dial your Tello number. When the greeting starts, press * and enter your password.

⚠️ Warning
Turning your voicemail OFF in your Tello account settings will permanently delete all saved messages and greetings. Once they are gone, they cannot be recovered.

Troubleshooting Tips
  • If you've toggled Voicemail OFF/ON: You must restart your phone and re-initialize the mailbox. To do this, simply follow the steps under "How to Set Up Your Voicemail" at the top of this guide. If you are asked to enter a password,t you can use the lasr 4 digits of your phone number.
  • Samsung Users: If your voicemail isn't connecting, ensure your number is correctly stored. Open the Phone app > Settings > Voicemail > Voicemail Number and make sure it shows your Tello number.

✅ Pro-Tip
Your mailbox can store up to 45 messages. Keep an eye on your inbox, as the system auto-purges messages after 30 days unless you manually save them during the call.
