Can I transfer my VoIP or Landline to Tello?

Yes, you can transfer your VoIP or Landline number to Tello as long as your current provider accepts our automated request.

What you need to do first
Before you start the move, you must contact your current provider to:
  1. Retrieve your Port Out details: You’ll need specific account information to move the number.
  2. Ask for your CSR: Request your Customer Service Record (CSR). This document contains the exact details required for the transfer.
  3. Notify them: Let them know you are terminating your line once the transfer is complete.

How Tello handles the transfer
Our porting process is fully automated. We do not use third-party platforms or change our standard request format.

How long does it take?
Landline or VoIP numbers take up to 5 business days to complete, depending on how quickly your previous carrier processes the request.

⚠️ Warning
Landline and VoIP transfers can be tricky. Please keep the following in mind:
  • Carrier Responsibility: Tello is not responsible for delays, rejections, or failures caused by your previous carrier. You may need to speak with their Porting team or a Supervisor to ask them to "release" your number to us.
  • Format Issues: Most companies accept our format, but if yours doesn't, the transfer might not be possible.
  • No Direct Calls: Tello does not call or contact wireline carriers directly to negotiate transfers.
