Can I activate Tello while I’m abroad?
No. You must be located within the U.S. to complete your activation or transfer your number (port-in) to Tello.
Why the U.S. first?
After your SIM or eSIM is fully active and working in the U.S., you are free to travel! You can then use your Tello service anywhere in the world using Wi-Fi Calling or International Roaming.
Why the U.S. first?
- Activation: To get your line up and running, your phone needs to connect to our U.S. network towers for the very first time.
- Number Transfers: Moving your old number to Tello also requires you to be in the U.S. to ensure everything syncs correctly.
