What APN settings are needed with Tello?

When you join Tello, your Access Point Name (APN) settings usually update automatically. However, if your data is sluggish or your MMS (picture messages) and hotspots aren't working, you might need to manually check or add these settings.

For Android Devices
Android menus vary by brand, but you’ll generally find these under Settings > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names.
  1. The Quick Fix: Tap the menu (three dots) and select "Reset to default." Then, ensure Tello or fast.t-mobile.com is selected and test your service.
  2. Manual Setup: If the quick fix doesn't work, you'll need to add a new APN manually. Tap "Add" or "+" and enter the following:
    • Name: Tello
    • APN: wholesale
    • MMSC: http://wholesale.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc
    • Port: 8080
    • MCC: 310
    • MNC: 240
    • APN Type: default,supl,mms
    • Protocol: IPv4/IPv6
Save & Restart: Tap the three dots, select Save, make sure the new APN is selected, and restart your phone.

For iOS Devices
Go to Settings ≫ Cellular ≫ Cellular Data Network and enter these details: For a more detailed walkthrough, see our guide: What should be the APN settings for my iOS?

⚠️ Warning
When entering APN settings manually, spelling matters! Ensure there are no extra spaces and that "APN Type" (for Android) is typed exactly as default, supl, mms with no spaces after the commas.

Next Steps
  • Always restart your phone after saving new APN settings to "push" the change to the network.
  • Ensure your iOS and Android software is fully updated to the latest version.
  • If data still isn't working, double-check that your Mobile Data toggle is actually turned ON in your phone settings.
