How do I use a Tello eSIM with Dual SIM (Multiple SIMs)?
Before you use Dual SIM with your device, please make sure to check that your device model supports dual SIM options.
1. Dual SIM with iPhone
Go to Settings > Cellular. Under the SIMs section, you will see a list of all SIM profiles currently on your device and you can manage your SIM profiles.
Note: You must be logged into an Apple ID to use these features. For further assistance with iMessage, please refer to Apple Support.
2. Dual SIM with Android
- Most smartphones will only support 2 active SIMs simultaneously.
- Depending on the device model, you may be able to use 1 Physical SIM + 1 eSIM or 2 eSIMs
- For iPhones: Some iPhone Models manufactured for international markets may support 2 physical SIMs only.
1. Dual SIM with iPhone
Go to Settings > Cellular. Under the SIMs section, you will see a list of all SIM profiles currently on your device and you can manage your SIM profiles.
- a. SIM Labels
When first installing your second SIM, your iPhone will prompt you to label each line. Default options include "Primary," "Secondary," "Cellular Data," and "Business." You can also create a Custom Label; we recommend labeling your Tello eSIM as "Tello" to avoid confusion. - b. Default Voice Line
Choose which number your phone uses by default for outgoing calls. - c. Cellular Data Selection
Select which SIM you want to use for your internet connection. - d. iMessage & Messages
To select the preferred line for iMessage and SMS:- Go to Settings » Apps » Messages » With iMessage On, tap Send & Receive.
- Select the phone number you wish to use. This line will be used for iMessage, SMS, MMS, and RCS.

2. Dual SIM with Android
- Samsung
- Go to Settings » Connections » SIM Manager.
- Here, you can toggle specific SIMs On or Off.
- The "Primary SIM" setting determines the default line for calls, data, and SMS services.
- Select the Tello eSIM to enable Tello services as your primary connection.
✅ Tip: On many Samsung models, you can also swipe down the Quick Settings panel to quickly switch between your data lines. - Pixel and Other Android Devices
- Open the Settings app> Tap Network & Internet> then tap SIMs.
- To access the internet via your Tello plan, ensure Mobile Data is turned On.
- Under Preferences, choose your default SIM for each specific service (Calls, Data, or SMS). You can select a different line for each specific service.
- Make sure the Tello eSIM is selected for the services you wish to use with Tello.
- Note: Only one SIM can be the default for mobile data at a time. If you already have a data SIM active, you will receive a notification when switching to the Tello eSIM.
