What will be my new Tello phone number?

When you join Tello, your new phone number is automatically assigned based on the zip code entered & area code availability.
  • While you can't choose a specific prefix or number, the prefix will belong to the area code used when placing the order for your line.
  • Every time you activate a SIM for a new line, a new Tello number is generated. You’ll see this number in your online account as soon as activation is finished.
You can stick with this new Tello number or replace it by bringing over (porting) your own number from another carrier.

Porting Your Existing Number
If you want to keep your old number, there is a specific order you must follow:

1. Activate First: You must successfully activate your Tello SIM in your online account using the temporary number provided.
2. Submit Port-In: The “Port In” option will appear in your Number Transfer section once activation is complete. You can then submit your request to replace the temporary number with your own.

If your new number is showing an incorrect caller name, please email Customer Support with the following details:
  • Tello phone number affected
  • Current display name
  • Any phone number where the incorrect name has appeared
