How can I use my device overseas?
Good news: you don't have to leave your Tello service behind when you travel. Whether you want to use your actual phone line abroad or just stick to Wi-Fi, you have three solid options to stay connected.
All phones purchased from Tello are already unlocked so no international unlock is required for use overseas.
If you came to Tello with a locked device then you will need to get the device unlocked with the original carrier.
Tello does not lock or unlock devices.
Option 1: International Roaming
You can use Tello roaming in over 200 countries. This uses cellular towers abroad and pulls from a Pay As You Go balance.
Option 2: Wi-Fi Calling & Text
This feauture lets you use any local Wi-Fi (hotel, cafe, or hotspot) to make calls and send texts just like you’re back in the States.
The Benefit: It doesn’t cost extra—it just uses the minutes from your existing Tello plan.
See more details on this blog.
Option 3: The "My Tello" App
If your phone doesn't support built-in Wi-Fi calling, you can download our free app on iOS or Android.
