What happens to my plan balance if I change my phone plan?
The good news is that you can often keep your unused minutes and data! This is called Rollover, but it depends on the new plan you choose and when you make the change.
⚠️ Important: When Rollover Will Not Happen?
- Match your Service
Your balance will roll over for an extra 30 days only if your new plan includes that same service.- If your new plan has both Minutes & Data: Any leftover minutes and data from your old plan will carry over.
- If your new plan is "Data Only": Your leftover data will roll over, but your minutes will expire on their original date because the new plan doesn't include them.
- Unlimited Plans: Please note that standard rollover rules do not apply to Unlimited plans in the same way (see our Data Rollover section for those specific loyalty rewards).
- Timing is Everything
To successfully roll over your balance, you must manually change or renew your plan in your dashboard at least 24 hours before your next automatic renewal date.
⚠️ Important: When Rollover Will Not Happen?
- Excluding Services: If you remove a service (like minutes) from your new plan, that specific balance will expire on its original date.
- Payment Failures: If your automatic renewal fails because your card was declined, any remaining balance will be lost and cannot be refunded or added back.
- Forgot to Renew: If you miss the 24-hour manual renewal window and let automatic renewal take over, your previous balance will expire.
